Planet or Plastic? How everybody will have to decide what is more important.

Planet or Plastic? is National Geographic’s multiyear campaign to raise awareness about the global plastic trash crisis with the goal of bringing it to an end.

In their issue of June 2018 the National Geographic is asking all of us to decide if Plastic is more important to us than our Planet. The quick and simple answer should be "NO!", but the collection of devastating photos in this edition shows the extend plastic pollution has reached and makes you wonder where to start. Their answer: By taking the pledge today!

The message is simple and hopeful: "Together we can reduce single use plastics and make lasting impacts"

Here is what consumers can do on a daily basis to reduce single use plastic:

The problem: A trillion plastic bags are used worldwide every year.
Your contribution: Always bring a reusable bag when you shop.
The problem: Nearly a million plastic beverage bottles are sold every minute.
Your contribution: Go refillable! Carry your own reusable bottle.
The problem: Americans toss millions of plastic straws every day.
Your contribution: Skip the straw. In most cases, you don’t need a straw. Tell your server, “no straw, please” when you order a drink.
The problem: 9 million tons of plastic waste ends up in the ocean every year.
Your contribution: End littering. Properly dispose of your own trash and pick up litter when you can.

CHOOSE THE PLANET. EVERY ACTION MATTERS.

Take the pledge here.
